Comment Guidelines
The whole idea here is to get a conversation going. We welcome all comments, as long as they follow a few basic ground rules. We’ll weigh in when we can, but promise that we read every comment you post.
Here are the rules of engagement:
- Keep it Civil. If you want to take issue with something you’ve heard or read, criticize the point, not the person. Engage the argument, not the motivation. Name-calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
- Keep it Relevant. Do your best to keep your comment focused on the topic at hand. For more general questions about BackStory, click here for information on how to contact us.
- Keep it Short. Try to limit your comments to 200 words or less. If you have to scroll to read your comment, it’s probably too long. When excerpting from outside sources, do it selectively; few people have time to read through huge blocks of text. When possible, include a link to source material rather than pasting in the text in its entirety.
- Keep it Responsive. Before you comment, have a look at what other people have written. There’s a good chance there’s something there relevant to the point you want to make. The more you respond to each other, the better the conversation will be!
Your thoughts are welcome at backstoryradio.org, and we want you to feel welcome here. We do reserve the right, however, to remove comments that violate these basic ground rules. Thanks for being part of the BackStory community!
